Come and enjoy 7 nights accommodation, with 7 days of sketching and painting at La Tuiliere. Set on 3 acres of unspoiled, and peaceful land, it can accommodate up to 14 people: 7 bedrooms all en-suite, an extra toilet near the living spaces, a large dining room, a living room, a fully equipped kitchen with ample counter space, a large hob and two ovens, and a utility room. Three bedrooms are on the ground floor and four on the first floor. The property benefits from an 11 x 5 metre private heated swimming pool with terrace with a wonderful uninterrupted view over the countryside and vineyards.
The gites are about 20 mins drive from Bergerac airport which has direct links from the UK, and is located about 9km from Eymet in the Dordogne, South West France. It is exceptionally well placed for plentiful local wine tastings, restaurants, chateaux and food stores.
Below is a sample itinerary, as it's weather dependent!
The hours for each day will be: 10.00 to 12.30 (tuition) 12.30 to 14.00 (lunch break – restaurant lunch will be provided, or lunch will be served at la Tuiliere) 14.00 to 17.30 (tuition)
Day 1: When you arrive at Bergerac airport, we’ll be there to meet you and take you directly to your lovely accommodation. After time to settle in, it'll be time for a welcome drink and to run through the week’s activities before you al fresco dine, weather permitting.
Day 2: After breakfast, we’ll head to the market town of Marmande to explore and sketch the lovely medieval cloisters and the Jardins de Beauchamp, followed by a buffet lunch at la Tuiliere. The afternoon will be spent producing artwork, developing up ideas from this morning, before retiring to your accommodation to relax. In the evening enjoy a delicious dinner at la Tuiliere; on the terrace weather permitting.
Day 3: After breakfast, we’ll head to De Fayolle chateau and vineyard where we’ll spend the morning sketching and painting. A fantastic platter lunch, after wine tasting, will be taken at the vineyard, with the afternoon spent in the chateau gardens painting. We’ll return to la Tuiliere late afternoon, where there will be time to relax before dinner 'at home'.
Day 4: After breakfast, we’ll head to the mediaeval town of Issigeac to explore and sketch, followed by a lunch at L’auberge des Dimes and the afternoon will be spent back at the gites, producing artwork, developing up ideas from this morning, before retiring to your accommodation to relax. In the evening we’ll enjoy a light dinner at la Tuiliere; on the terrace weather permitting.
Day 5: Today after breakfast we’ll paint all day at la Tuiliere. After a buffet lunch we’ll continue. Following an afternoon of art, we’ll make time to relax before enjoying a fantastic catered dinner; on the terrace weather permitting.
Day 6: After breakfast, we’ll head to Mireille’s garden in Auriac. We’ll return to La Tuiliere for a buffet lunch. The afternoon will be spent producing artwork, developing up ideas from this morning, before retiring to our accommodation to relax. In the evening we’ll enjoy a delicious dinner at la Tuiliere.
Day 7: This morning after breakfast we’ll paint all day at la Colombiere. After a buffet lunch we’ll continue. Following an afternoon of art, we’ll make time to relax before enjoying a fantastic final dinner and farewell ‘drinks at home’.
Day 8: After breakfast there’s time for a little more artwork in the morning at the gites. Then pack and say goodbye before we run you back to Bergerac airport at noon.
For partners who like golf, there are 4 golf courses within a 35 minute drive. There are also chateaux to visit and plenty of countryside for walking or cycling, or why not bring a book and read by the pool. All meals would be provided.
