Service Description
Take a leap into the world of art journaling for wellbeing. This is an artistic way of documenting your life within the pages of a journal – using words, pens, paint, and collage to express yourself. Over the next few weeks, you will get tips on painting, doodling with purpose, and composition, plus reminders that there are no rules. We will look at basic book binding also. The journal will contain art, not writings about art, not evaluations/process records or photographs of art… 1. Intro session, simple bookbinding to create a wellbeing /creativity /mindfulness book, will choose three affirmation words for the front of the book. 2. What pages do you want as your backgrounds? Mixed media is best as it allows you to try different techniques, we will be making some art that you may wish to use as backgrounds but recycling some existing paper is great and you will be saving the planet as well! Using old artwork is also fantastic as a background for new art. 3. Wellbeing walk/sketch/photograph 4. Zentangling- starting with a creative task that helps you to learn to use creativity to practice mindfulness. Hopefully, Zentangling will become an integrated part of your journal and your practice. 5. Typography and text & Bitesize Botanical drawing -add a bit of floral décor to your pages 6. Finishing off, using your journal -prompts-affirmations, one word about how you feel, write down and draw out a problem, any ideas? Materials and methods offered include drawing, painting and mixed media. The classes are kept to a maximum of 8, providing a relaxed learning environment. All materials, use of tools and equipment, tea, coffee and biscuits are provided.
